Crane Performance Siding®, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is one of the Crane Plastics family of companies with manufacturing facilities in the United States, as well as a vinyl siding plant in South America.

1940s
Founded in 1947 with a focus on the production of precision parts using a variety of plastic polymers, Crane Plastics soon established a reputation for quality products and innovative ideas.

1950s
During the 1950s, we developed a unique expertise in the controlled extrusion of polyvinyl resin. In a 1957 joint venture with Monsanto, we designed and engineered the world's first extrusion die system to produce a solid vinyl residential exterior siding. In the following years, we manufactured vinyl siding products that were marketed by such companies as Alside, Bendix, CertainTeed and Johns-Manville.

1970s
In 1976, we introduced our own proprietary line of siding, superior to alternative products in the marketplace. We followed that advance by pioneering the double clapboard configuration and advanced color technology.

Today
Today our products are recognized for their superior workmanship, durability and performance, including our new SOLID CORE SIDING® products, such as CraneBoard®. U.S. manufacturing is done in two facilities. A state-of-the-art facility opened in 2000 and the original production plant opened in 1976.

Most important to us, however, is our commitment to quality that endures.
