During the 1940s 1950s and early 1960s, the Fox family was involved in the aluminum fabrication business primarily the manufacturing of aluminum storm products. As early as the mid 1950s they were instrumental in the development and manufacturing of the welded corner construction on aluminum windows and doors. They were quick to realize the strength and durability of a welded corner joint as apposed to the traditionally weak screwed together corner.

In 1964 a new company was formed, Fox Aluminum Products and the goals included development, manufacturing and installation of high quality aluminum porch enclosures, storm windows and storm doors.

Over the next 40 years research and development were a constant effort and Fox Aluminum became a major forerunner in bringing to market new and better storm products including:

• Better, stronger and efficient welding and manufacturing processes.
• Recognizing that storm door hinges were a major cause of storm door failure and responded with Fox’s current ultimate hinge system, which is considered to be the strongest hinge available.

In 1985 Fox began Powder Coating storm products at a time when industry manufacturers responded that a storm window or door didn’t require a high performance finish.

In 1992 Fox Recognized the need and began fabricating quality Robotic Perimeter Guarding. Over the years, refinement of Aluminum Perimeter Guarding process has continued to develop a product that is friendly to the industry, designers, and installers.

In 2000 Fox reviewed its entire operations and a new factory was designed and built around efficient material handling, lean manufacturing utilizing robotic and automated manufacturing processes.
